Complete a 30 Day Self-Love Challenge With Ease

Welcome to my 30 Day Self-Love Challenge! I created this challenge to be super easy and fun because I want to make sure it’s a challenge you can complete. 

Let’s get started!

Day 1

I’m sure a lot of you are saying I don’t have time, I’m busy. But I know if you have time to be on social media or watch TV, then you have time to give yourself a little love. 

I promise you there’s nothing big to my challenge, only things that you need, even if you don’t realize it. Let’s start with something simple today. Today’s challenge is to go to bed early tonight. That’s simple right? I know you can do that. Day 2 challenge will not be any harder, so I encourage to read on. 

Day 2

Just Say No! 

This is something that’s very easy for me and I think one of the major reasons I don’t let stress into my life. However, I do realize that a lot of people have a challenge with saying no. 

Today I want you to remember the word NO is a full sentence. Nothing has to follow it. No but or why…just NO. All I ask is that you try it. 

A simple no can make the difference in giving you more time for yourself. You make everything else in your life a priority, how about making yourself a priority today.

Day 3

Spend time in nature. I don’t know what it is but nature has the most healing effect. Whether it’s trees, flowers, mountains, lakes or oceans just go outside, listen to the stillness and breathe. If the sun is out, even better. While you can go with a friend or loved one, sometimes it’s better to go alone. 

Take a long walk and clear your mind. 

Day 4

If you haven’t started the challenge, what are you waiting for? You will always find a reason not to do something but it’s rarely because you don’t have time. Ask yourself why you would not do something for yourself? 

Why would you not make yourself a priority? Here’s the thing though, only you can do it. Only you can make the change.

I’m just here to help and encourage along the way. If you haven’t started the challenge yet, it’s not too late. The last three days have been so simple that you could do all three today if you really want to. And if you have been following the days, I just want to say thank you! 

Today look at your to-do-list (we’ve all got one, whether it’s written down or in your head) and do something from it. But make sure it’s something just for you.




Day 5

Today is all about gratitude. I don’t care what is going on in your life, there is always something to be grateful for. And I suspect that it’s more than one thing. 

Take 5 minutes and write down everything that comes to your mind that you are grateful for and I mean everything, no matter how small. 

Sometimes it’s the small things that we don’t think about that are our biggest treasures. This is a good practice to do in the morning after waking up or right before going to bed. 

Daily gratitude helps put things in perspective especially on those tough days. This ones too easy not to do and the reward is priceless. 

This inexpensive Good Days Gratitude Journal is the perfect book if you want to make this a daily habit. 

Day 6

Yesterday was all about gratitude. Today is all about YOU. Take some time today and make a list of all things you love about yourself. I don’t want to hear you don’t have any. Everyone, and I mean everyone, loves something about themselves. 

I want you to look at the whole you, inside and out. Every piece of you that makes you whole. I think you will be surprised of how many things you write down. 

The only rule here is: no judgment, only love. 

Day 7

Remove toxic relationships from your life. 

I learned this lesson at a very young age and have been blessed with the most amazing friends and support system because of it. This is something that you are never too late to start but the sooner you do, the sooner the energy around you will shift dramatically

Now today’s challenge may be tough, because in order to do this, you have to be honest with yourself and that can be hard for some people. 

But you can’t be afraid of walking away from people or situations because that fear will keep you stuck there and the only person it’s hurting is you. 

They win! You lose! And you lose a lot of who you can truly be.

Today write down all the people who keep dragging you down or making you feel less than you are. And one by one cross those people off your list! Use a bold dark colored marker or just go crazy with lines. Just doing that will cause a shift in you. But don’t stop there, one by one start removing them from your lives. 

You can do it gradually. The key here is to start. Get rid of one and see how that makes you feel and keep going from there. Baby steps will get you to where you need to be and on the road to happiness and freedom.

Day 8

Start your day with positive affirmations. I don’t know about you but I have to start my day with them. I sit down with my hot cup of tea every morning and either read my affirmations or write new ones. 

They help jump start my day and I notice that there’s always one that stands out to me as if the universe is trying to tell me something. 

It’s always something that I need to hear that day and just makes me believe. It’s a pretty amazing feeling. And guess what? 

The more you say them, the more they seem to be true. I love how we have control of what our mind thinks so make sure to always be feeding it positive things.


Day 9

Buy yourself some flowers. There’s nothing more beautiful and energizing than flowers. They can literally shift the energy in a person and in a room. 

Have fun with this. Buy a bouquet with all your favorite flowers or colors in it. When you get home separate them into several small bouquets (cut the stems short on some of them) and place them in tall skinny vases and short round ones. 

Don’t have small short vases? You can use a pretty cup. Then find places to put them around your home (or even work). Maybe even give one to someone who needs cheering up and spread the good energy. 

Day 10

Read a self-help or inspirational book. 

At home sit cuddled up with a cozy blanket in your favorite spot with your favorite drink. Don’t forget to silence your phone. No distractions. Not sure what to read? 

If you’re not happy with yourself or can’t seem to quiet your mind, then I recommend picking up a book from Michael A. Singer or Gabrielle Bernstein. I think I’ve read all of their books and they have literally changed my life. 

If you’re in financial distress the first book you need to read is the Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. If you’re lost and don’t know your purpose you should read One Question by Ken Coleman. 

I cannot recommend these books highly enough. They are life changing if you actually do the work. I know you can do it. 

Day 11

I want you to pick a movie that YOU want to see and watch it by yourself. No interruptions, no talking. Just you with your favorite candy or popcorn completely immersed in the story. Enjoy your alone time and movie! 

Day 12

Today is all about setting goals. 

While you can do this on your electronics, today I want you to write them down on paper. You can place them on your phone or computer later but I want the initial process to be with pencil and paper. I say pencil so that you have the freedom to erase. 

This is one of my favorite Goal Journals because its slim and well laid out.

Before you start, if you have goals written down from last year or even from this New Year, take a look at them. Are there any on the list that you didn’t accomplish? Any from last month that you haven’t started?

Ask yourself why and don’t use excuses. Are they just sitting there on the paper, waiting for a miracle to happen? Now miracles do happen but not without you putting in the work.

Before you start your list of goals, make sure they are achievable. Then I want you to start with the smallest and easiest one first. 

Once you’ve accomplished that goal, cross it off your list and see how that looks and feels. Then move onto another goal. 

You can still be working towards the biggest goal, but if you accomplish some of the smaller ones along the way, your mind will shift helping you see the bigger picture in the end if you stick to it.

Day 13

Today take some time to unplug…from everything! It doesn’t have to be for the whole day. You’re not going to die without your phone, computer, iPad, or TV and your mind will thank you. 

It will be nice to unplug from all the tabs you have open and realize they will still be there. That it’s okay to take a break. It’s okay to do something you want to do instead. 

Whether it’s take a long hot bath, catch up with an old friend (just make sure they aren’t toxic), meditate, read, draw, give yourself a homemade facial, go for a hike or run, do gardening, etc. 

Do something you usually tell yourself you don’t have time for. 

Day 14

You are amazing, smart, strong, brave, insightful, creative, confident, fearless, kind, loving, and worthy. You know who your are? You are your own hero! Don’t let anyone take that away from you. 

Today is your day to own who you are. Stop comparing yourself to other people. You are the only “YOU” and today should be about YOU. Do something AMAZING for yourself today. 

Day 15

There’s nothing like music to change your mood. Whether it’s a song that makes you cry or a song that makes you get up and dance. 

Today I want you to create a playlist that motivates and sets you on fire! Pick songs that remind you of how strong you are, that make you smile, that empower you, motivate you, and make you dream.  

Day 16

Today is the perfect time to reflect and meditate. Take some quiet time for yourself and meditate for 10-15 mins. If the voices in your head are too loud, play a guided meditation to help keep you in the zone.

When you’re done, write down anything that comes to you. Don’t try to think, just write.

Day 17

Declutter is the word for today. 

You can start small or big. Your choice! Where should you start? Anywhere in your home (even if it’s just a drawer), your car (including your trunk) or your workspace. For how long? As long as you want. Just 30 mins, a few hours, the whole day. Totally up to you. 

Just keep in mind that in order for any change to happen in your life, change has to happen around you. The more you declutter, the more change you will experience. 

Now declutter does not mean moving things around or just putting into neat piles. Decluttering means physically getting rid of stuff. Stuff that actually clutters your mind without you realizing it. 

You want a little change, do 30 mins. You want a lot of change, make it a project. 

I promise you a shift in energy will happen, you will experience less stress, and you will have more clarity.  

Day 18

Today is all about budgeting and financial planning. 

Probably the most important thing you can do for yourself. Got any debt? Credit cards? Car payment? Student loans? If so, you need this even more. 

Believe me when I say there’s nothing more powerful than being financially free. Free from debt! It’s not easy but worth it’s weight in gold. 

Did you know that the total debt owed on credit cards by U.S. consumers is $905 billion! Auto loans $1.21 trillion! Student loans $1.36 trillion! Yup! That’s some serious money. 

And more people are going into retirement in debt instead of being financial free to enjoy their lives. The good news is you don’t have to be one of those people. The bad news is you have to work hard at it.

But if you really want to make the change to be debt free, I’m here to tell you that you can!!! It is possible.

I’m a Dave Ramsey fan and if you’re serious about a commitment, that will change your life forever, you should read his book Total Money Makeover or listen to his podcast. The podcast is FREE so you have no excuse.

Day 19

Everyone knows the importance of water and yet most people don’t get enough of it on a daily basis. 

I’m the first to admit that I fall in that group but I don’t want to because I recognize the importance of hydration.

First of all it’s essential for our skin, tissues, cells and organs to function properly. It prevents us from dehydration, removes toxins, prevents water retention, helps lose weight, along with a list of other benefits. 

So why don’t people get enough of it? Maybe because it just seems plain and boring. I personally don’t like cold water unless it’s infused with mint, cucumbers, lemon or oranges so I have room temperature or hot water throughout the day. I also eat lots of fruit and salads to help with my water intake.

So today’s action is to drink water. Lots of it! And if you’re like me and don’t like it plain, splash a little something in it. Oh, and there are a lot of apps out there to help you not forget so you have no excuse.  

Day 20

Today is about tapping into your creative child. 

That means coloring, drawing or just plain doodling. I want you to grab some paper, a coloring book, journal or even your day planner and get creative. Then get a hold of your favorite tools (gel pens, markers, colored pencils, pastels, chalk). 

Don’t have any? Steal some crayons from your kids box (okay, maybe not steal, but borrow). Got all your supplies? Now color inside a pattern or free form color (for those who don’t like staying inside the lines) or simply draw or doodle. 

This is called free therapy. This process isn’t just fun but it’s actually good for your health and happiness.

This creative outlet stops our minds from wandering and helps ease loneliness, boredom and anxiety. I call that a win win! So today, doodle away!

Day 21

When was the last time you had a check up? Or your teeth cleaned? Or that dreaded mammogram and Pap smear? Hey, I know our lives get busy with work and taking care of the house and kids. 

Did you know that some serious conditions don’t have obvious symptoms in the early stages (when they are most treatable) like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, colon cancer and cervical cancer? 

Let’s be honest, how much time would it really take out of your day for a doctors appointment? Maybe an hour? How much time would it take if you don’t go to the doctor and you end up having a serious condition that could have been treated if caught early? I’m just here to give you a wake up call. 

Your body will not take care of you if you won’t take care of it! It’s that simple. So what are you waiting for? Today is all about taking care of you first. Pick up the phone and make the appointment.

Day 22

Time to Stretch! And as you get older, you need it even more. Why? Because stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy in order to keep that range of motion in the joints. Without it, muscles shorten and get tight. 

Without stretching your muscles become weak and unable to extend all the way. 

And did you know that stretching has powerful stress busting abilities? Stretching can jump start your body and mind, help relax muscles and increase blood flow. It also releases endorphins. On top of all that, it lengthens your posture, improves energy, reduces soreness and injury.

Don’t have time you say? Try touching your toes and stay in that position for one minute. Just one minute! It’s okay to hold onto something if you can’t keep your balance but stay folded over even if you can’t touch your toes. 

Now do this every day and see what happens. I bet you sooner or later, you will be touching your toes. And all it took was one minute of your day! 

I know you have a minute to spare. Still think you don’t? I like doing this stretch in the shower while the hot water hits my lower back. Now tell me you don’t have a minute. How about while you’re waiting for a pot to boil or while you’re watching TV? No excuses.  

Day 23

It’s Date Night! Time to leave the kiddos at home if you have kids. Time to put the laptop away and stop working if you have a significant other. And if you’re like me, a single mom, time to go on date with yourself. 

Why are you going going to take yourself out on date? Because you are freakin’ worth it! Today is just about taking some time to do what you want to do. I don’t care what a date night looks to you. 

You can see a movie, go to dinner, listen to a band, go out for your favorite dessert, see a play or art exhibit. I don’t care what it is as long as you do something that is fun for YOU. So, if you’re married or in a relationship take a break from the routine and enjoy each other. 

And if you’re single, take a break and do something that feeds your soul. I have a standard date night every Friday with my 84 year old neighbor because it not only feeds my soul but hers as well. 

Day 24

The Day of You continues…Today is all about getting a much needed massage, facial, haircut, or mani pedi. 

Pick one or pick them all!!! Strapped for cash you say? No problem because I’m sure you have all the ingredients at home for a facial and mani pedi. You can always get the spouse or significant other to give you a back or foot massage too. Or how about a nice long hot bath. 

Have some fun and have a friend over for a little spa day. You know you need it and it’s all doable so you have no excuse.

Day 25

Today you are going to make or buy a Self-Love Box. What is a self-love box? 

It’s a box that holds all the wonderful things you love about yourself and your most joyous moments. Why? Because sometimes we need to be reminded of our awesomeness! 

Here is how it goes: If you’re artistic or creative I want you to make a box because it will make it that more special. It can be pastel, bold and bright, glittery, black and white. I don’t care as long as YOU love it. 

If you don’t want to create one, then you can simply buy a box or tin that you love the colors or design. You can find these at Michael’s and Home Goods and tons of other places but these are my go to stores.

Once you have your box place it somewhere in your home that you can see everyday. 

For today, I want you to write on a small piece of paper something you love about yourself or something you did or experienced that made you overjoyed. Now try doing this every time something good happens. 

The goal is to have the box filled with wonderful things about yourself. 

This way on days that you’re feeling crappy or low on self esteem you can reach over to your self-love box, open it, and read all the wondering things about yourself and be reminded that you’re amazing. 

There are good days and bad days, but if you get reminded enough of the good days, the bad days soon start to turn into good days. 

The reality is, you determine the kind of day you’re going to have. 

Day 26

Treat yourself to something special. Anything YOU like! No judgement. 

It can be your favorite bottle of wine (you know the pricey one that you always look at and then walk by because you give yourself some excuse not to get it). Or it can be your favorite dessert. 

I personally check out the dessert menu before I order my food because I need to know if there’s something so yummy that I will sacrifice a big meal for. But that’s me and I don’t care if people think that’s weird but I’m a dessert girl. Or maybe it’s a delicious smelling candle you’ve been dying to buy. Buy it! Or a pretty dress or high heels. 

It can even be a book you’ve been dying to read or a beautiful journal you’ve been thinking about getting. It can be a new nail polish, eye shadow, flowers, pillows, purse or even adopt a dog or cat. 

The point is that it can be ANYTHING as long as it’s something you absolutely love and really want. 

But I don’t want you charging your credit card for Louboutin shoes if it’s not in your budget. It’s not about getting that big ticket item but more about getting something that just makes you feel good inside.

Day 27

Embrace your body! 

Some of us are skinny with no curves and some of us have extra curves with some junk in our trunk. And for those of us who go through pregnancy our bodies turn in a whole different direction. 

So knowing all this, why is it that we, as women, continue to be so hard on ourselves? What is this obsession over our bodies and what they are “supposed” to look like? 

Is it the fit and sculpted women we see on magazines? Don’t get me wrong, those women look absolutely amazing. But guess what, they work hard to look that amazing. No one is born with muscles, a six pack and super tight butt. 

So unless you’re willing to put in the work, stop obsessing over these women’s bodies and embrace what you have.

I’m not tall and I’m okay with that. I just tell myself the best things come in small packages. My whole life I’ve struggled with pants fitting me the right way because I have hips and junk in my trunk. I’ve learned to love and embrace that part of me as part of my heritage. 

I’ve had a baby, a c-section, gained 42 pounds during my pregnancy and my body never went back to what it was before. But, I’m okay with it. 

One, I never compare myself to anyone else because I’m not them and never will be so why would I waste my energy on that. 

Two, you are not your body. Let me repeat that…You Are NOT Your Body. Your body is just a vehicle and like all vehicles, it comes in different shapes and sizes. And how that vehicle functions really depends on how we take care of the inside. 

Because the inside of us is truly who we are as human beings. So today, ask yourself, who am I? 

To get you started, if I was to put you inside a box, and know one could see you, how would they describe you? The real you! That’s your assignment today. To discover YOU.  

Day 28

You Are Not Alone. 

Today is about realizing that even though there might be times when you feel you are all alone, you’re not. Whether it’s the support of your family, friends, spouse, therapist or the universe, know this…you are not alone because you also have countless women who feel exactly like you do. 

Remember that you will always be able to find a support group. Now more than ever, you will find women supporting women.

Day 29

Today I want you to give yourself permission to change. 

How many times have you made a decision to change something to only find yourself on the same path? What are you afraid of? I will tell you. It’s the voice in your head called fear. Fear that you might fail. Well, I don’t know of any successful person who hasn’t failed at something. 

Fear that you might get laughed at. Does it really matter what other people think? I promise you they are not worried about what you think so who cares! 

Anyone can make a change. Those who don’t are simply letting fear run their lives and fear is just an illusion that you, yourself, have created in your head.

You want change in your life? First step is to get out of your head because if you don’t, it will slowly destroy any chance of happiness. 

Remember, the only person in charge of you, is YOU. 

Today be aware of your present thoughts. If any of those thoughts are negative, realize they aren’t real. It is fear trying to take control, but you are the one behind the steering wheel. 

You are the one who decides if you’re going to continue to let the steering wheel go towards fear or finally take over and drive yourself towards where you were always meant to be. May beautiful colors and positive energy fill you completely.

Day 30

If you’ve been doing this 30 day self-love challenge I want to say congratulations on making it to day 30! It was easy right? If you haven’t, that’s okay because when you are ready, it will be here waiting for you. 

Nothing happens until one is ready for something to happen. 

If this is day 30 for you, I want you to reflect and notice what has changed or shifted in your life since starting the 30 day self-love challenge. 

Then I want you to ask yourself, what more do I want? What more do I need? Two very different questions because wanting and needing are not the same. What kind of person do I want to be? What impact on the world do I want to leave? How can I be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister? By continuing to take care of YOU!

For the last day, I want you to create a vision board with all these questions in your mind because a vision board only works if there’s a set intention. 

Be mindful of what you place on it for the universe listens to everything we ask for and everything we think we deserve. 

Negative thoughts are only going to bring your negative results. 

Be creative or as simple as you want with your vision board. I recently discovered a Law of Attraction Life Planner and it includes a vision board section along with sections for gratitude and an undated productivity monthly planner. Basically all you need in one book! I have been loving using it so far. 

Just make sure it represents your desires (not someone else’s). When you are done, place it somewhere you can see it everyday. In your office, inside your closet door, your bedroom, etc. Also, don’t be afraid to add or remove things as things start to change in your life. 

Remember, change is good. Change sets your soul on fire!
