Day 3️⃣0️⃣…What happens when skin care is always directed toward women and not men? Nothing. Men do nothing to take care of their skin. Is that all men? No, but it is probably most men, because as a society we don’t teach men to take care of their skin, so they neglect it. Skin is a part of all of us, men and women, which means everything that happens to women’s skin also happens to men’s skin. Men get dark circles and puffiness under their eyes, acne, wrinkles, dryness, and bumps under their facial hair (okay women don’t get this one but you get the point). Research says men neglect themselves because it’s not “manly” to take care of themselves? If this is you, I apologize for society. I also apologize that some women feel they have to maintain their youth while men do nothing. The reality is skin cancer doesn’t see gender so keep that in mind men. Also, skin being your largest organ is affected not just by creams you put on your face and body, but by simply maintaining a healthy diet and not smoking, so there really is no excuse for neglect. And with all of us living longer these days why wouldn’t you want to take care of all of you?
