The power of affirmations can work as quickly as hours or days, but most of them take a lot more time. It all depends on the person’s mindset that is saying them. The problem with affirmations is people think they can repeat a sentence over and over again and it’s going to happen magically. The Law of Attraction only works that way if you have everything else in alignment, and that’s why they work for some people and not others.
The power of affirmations only work if you believe in the statement. For example, you might have one that says, “I am healthy and fit.” Just saying these words doesn’t make it happen, you still have to put in the work and truly see yourself healthy and fit. You have to experience how it would feel by holding a vision of what you believe to be true. If you think it is true, then you already know how it feels. Once you are in the feeling mode, the universe does everything to help you and will start to bring things into your life that will help you accomplish your goal.
When you repeat affirmations over and over, whether you are saying, writing, or hearing them, they get embedded into your subconscious mind. After all the repetition, the subconscious mind goes into overdrive to help it come true because it does not know the difference between reality and dreaming. It will believe anything you tell it. This is why words are the most powerful tool in the universe, and once you realize that and learn how to use words and thoughts correctly, you can change your life.
One must also remember that the power of affirmations have to be affirmed, preferably with an “I AM” statement. For example, “I am financially abundant” vs. “I am no longer financially struggling” or “I am no longer broke.” You need to make sure it is phrased in a way that serves you.
So how long does it take for affirmations to work? It depends on three factors: mindset, repetition, and feelings. Some people say it takes 21 days to change a habit or create change, but I believe it takes longer, so I would do it for at least a month. Also, it needs to be consistent. So if you start, and then two weeks later you don’t do it for a few days, you need to start back at day 1.
Here is a trick I use for it to become a habit. Pick a time each day to say them and stick to it, make it part of your daily routine. I believe the first thing in the morning or before you go to bed is the best time. Otherwise, life has a way of finding something to distract you. Try to stay consistent, and it will make it much easier for you. Remember, all you need is one minute a day. So it’s not that you don’t have the time, it’s that you don’t make the time.
If you decide to take the time to create your new reality, here are eight powerful affirmations to get you started. Make sure you personalize them so that they have feeling behind them.
8 POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS
I am a money magnet
I am healthy
I am loved
I am happy
I am successful
I am wealth
I am creative
I am grateful for the good in my life
One more thing, affirmations can be said verbally, listened to, or you can write them down in a journal. I write mine down daily in my journal, and I also listen to a 15-minute loop recording of my affirmations before I fall asleep. Use the process that works best for you and remember to stay consistent.
